Emails From the Front

Winterwolf tries to write as often as possible and all of us in our group are so relieved when we hear from him.  I can't even begin to tell you the relief we share when he manages to drop us a short note.  Help us support our Troops.  They are only honoring the oaths they took to follow their Commander in Chief and to protect this land we live in.  Drop Keith a line on our Forum board and he'll write back when he can.

Anyone wishing to send care packages to the Troops in Iraq, contact me directly at laura@newage-journal.com for the mailing address.

Well friends, its your favorite lil soldier here,
Got a little more than hairy outside running around today. I can say,
it made me sweat just a little more than I usually do. Cant exactly
explain, but the smell of cordite hit me pretty hard. Thankfully we
walked away with no problems. Its been getting hotter out there these
days. I here alot of explosions in the distance, some closer than Id
prefer...but its one more day I thank the Lord and Lady Im still
breathin and in one piece. I see new faces here...so welcome and I
hope you enjoy our family. Well, I got to go and get equipment put
away, weapons cleaned, and well...Im pretty ripe...so a cool shower
will probably feel good too. Ill check back in later tonight. Ill
hopefully be sending some pics to Laura soon as well hopefully for the
newsletter project. Anyways...enjoy your day and I hope to find each
of you safe and happy. Take care....

some concerns that perhaps Ill address at another time. Anyways,
Laura...I hope you are feeling better and your surgery went well. Love
to all of you...

Sorry I oculdnt get online any sooner, but the last few days I been
ummm...well on mission. So here I am back in the wire safe and sound
so to speak. Enough of that bit of rambling. The socks are greatly
appreciated, I know of at least two ladies who would appreciate
them. If you could, get with Laura, she was setting aside a package
outgoing for me to distribute amongst those in need. She has the
addresses and such. You can post it to me directly of course. Just
get in contact with Laura offline and she'll give you the mailing
address. Again, gifts such as those are greatly appreciated. Thank
you so much for the support.

Greetings Rev. Fallon,
Well, Im back for a bit...was out doing what I do best...keepin my
head and butt down lol. anyways, I hope you are feeling better, get
plenty of rest and when you get a break, take a nice long walk or
two...it really helps..(well it really helped me when I used to
drink too much and get raging hangovers...lol)anyways, get well
soon, it seems there is alot of the crud going around and you cant
help others till you are up 100%. Take care and really any sort of
donations is fine. Get with Laura, she'll give guidance as to
address ok? I really appreciate all the support comin our way.

Subject: Needs from Baghdad

As Laura has stated Ive taken it upon myself to distribute any care
package items I can to thosei n need. Our current rotation has been here
over 2 months and through a bit of digging I have found a few people
inmy area who have recieved nothing from home. In the army one o the
most important things that can effect soldiers morale is...mail. I am
more than willing to redistribute anything that gets sent my way.
While we have a fairly decent selection of things to obtain on our
base, e few things have come up through talking to those in need.
...if by chance anyone would like to contribute...it would mean so
much to us out here. I am not trying to solicite anything, but a few of
the things people were asking for come as follows: Bug repelent,
ladies ankle socks (no one carries them out here...the prudes lol),
medicated foot powder, these are just a couple of minor odds and ends
I have heard. Again, I dont want to sound likeI m begging. But the
people whom I speak for have yet o recieve anything from home and in
some cases wont due to personal situations. They come from all faiths
and walks, but they work so hard. As Im writing this, there was a
terrible attack last night about 2 or 3 kilometers away from my base.
While I wasnt called up on the reactionary force, we ended up working
almost double shifts all the way around to help in our own way. Soon
Ill depart for work and Ill have to wonder how many more lost there
lives to another violent attack. And Ill probably feel guilty as hell
that I couldnt have done more to be out there in the thick of the
fight. Not that I look for danger...I just hate seeing others go down.
Its a common guilt complex we as soldiers carry especially those who
spent any time in the infantry. I can only hope we didnt lose too many
this time. Well dear friends contact Laura if you can contribute
anything to these fine compatriots of mine that I serve with. I give
you my most solomn word that anything you send will be hand delivered
to those whom need it most. What ever you do contribute will be held
as sacred gifts and be treated as such when they pass to my custody to
divy out. Ok, Im back to work...guess I get to see the damage reports
today. Take care each of you. May the Lord strengthen your heart and
may the Lady shine her love upon you and wrap you in comfort.
