Keith tries to write as often as
possible and all of us in our group
are so relieved when we hear from him.
I can't even begin to tell you the relief we share when he manages to drop
us a short note. Help us support our Troops. They are only
honoring the oaths they took to follow their Commander in Chief and to
protect this land we live in. Drop Keith a line on our Forum board
and he'll write back when he can.

Baghdad......Thank you
Its thursday evening and the worst of my brooding is over. I
want to
thank all of those who sent support in one of my darker moments. It
means alot when things look grim on my side. With that said, I also
took the advice of many, you know who you are and found a few quiet
moments to do a meditation. It wasnt even remotely easy and had more
than a few false starts but in the end I found the calm I was
seeking.
I got a better perspective and somewhat of an answer for some of the
things Ive been struggling with. It gave me a better sense of peace.
But the amazing thing happened afterward. Because I gained some
answers and peace, I buried a small offering of thanks in one of the
barriers outside my trailer as I do when things have gone good. When
I
was done, I noticed something. In this sandy barren area, a new
sprout
of a plant had made its way up through the dry soil. I stood there
for
a minute or two just thinking how good a thing it was to see life
sprout out of the worst of conditions. It sort of gave me a bit of
hope and strength knowing that if against all odds a plant which I
took very little effort in putting to soil would fight its way
through
such a dry and barren area to bring forth new life. I dont know how
long it will last, but knowing that it could make it and had a
chance
to thrive in nothing but sand and rock, then perhaps so can I.
I dont doubt that there is a chance it will still fail when the
harsh
heat begins to bake our area, but still it gave a bit of hope when I
wasnt sure there was any. Im sure also there will be other times
while
Im out here that life will throw curve balls at me and pitch me into
a
brooding fit again, but at least I can take solace in knowing that
even when faced with extremes and adversity I can still rise just as
this little plant has.
Well, thank you all for keeping me grounded when I needed it the
most.
I cant express the gratitude that I feel towards you all and for
what
you have done for me. Guess thats about it for now. Hope to hear
from
you all soon, it seems this board has been very quiet of late. Let
us
share with one another as a good and proud family should. You are
all
in my heart and my thoughts.
Blessings to your Spirits,
Winterwolf
